Changes to GP appointments – Termination of Online Consult system

The Online Consult system will be terminated as of the 27th May 2022 at 17.30pm this is due to the contract coming to an end.

As of Monday 30th May you will be required to call the surgery on 01333 426913 from 8.30 am to book appointments.  Emergency service operates between 8-8.30 and 17.30-18.00.

We will require a brief reason for appointments due to us having access to a wider team including Mental Health Triage nurse and First Contact Physiotherapy Practitioner etc.  All respiratory symptoms will continue to be triaged before appointments given.

Appointments will NOT be given out at the front desk and you will not be allowed to queue at the front of the surgery.  You should only enter the building if you have an appointment booked.

Please call before 10.30am for urgent on the day appointments and house visit requests.  Phone lines open at 8.30am.

Nursing and Phlebotomy appointments should be booked as normal – we do not offer on the day appointment for these so please booked these in advance.

Changes to Partnership + Premises

Drs Mather, Miller and Parish have been working for the last 5 years short of 2 full-time GP partners at Methilhaven Surgery. Since they have been unable to recruit any new GP's to the practice they have decided to hand the practice back to NHS Fife. the 3 doctors will continue to work for the NHS as GP's but not in this area.
The doctors had hoped that the practice might continue to be run from the current premises at Methilhaven Road however NHS Fife have decided to relocate to the Randolph Wemyss Memorial Hospital

Any media enquiries should contact fife.communications@nhs.scot

Please see attached letter – this is being posted out to each patient by NHS Fife.

Waiting Area

At Methilhaven Surgery we try to minimise the number of people in the waiting area. GP waiting area’s can be hectic and at times an unhealthy environment to be in therefore we ask you be mindful of who you bring along to your appointment with you. Less people in the waiting area means there is less risk of cross infection. We do however understand there are circumstances where a family member or friend is desired or required to be with you.

During the consultation with the GP please respect the precious time you have in there with them and turn mobiles on to silent mode and refrain from answering any phone calls unless absolutely urgent.

Thank you for your understanding.
